01
The problem

Buying a plant is easy. Keeping it alive isn’t.

Beginner plant owners juggle social media, stores, search engines, and memory. Every step works on its own; the journey does not.

What if the product that helps someone choose a plant could keep supporting them after the purchase?

Discovery

From “I want a plant” to “this plant is right for me.”

Confidence

Decision-focused details before committing.

Care

Routines and reminders, not static articles.

Recovery

Problem → understanding → action → recovery.

Full problem statement and solution

Plant lovers need a simpler, more confident way to discover plants that fit their lifestyle, purchase them with clear expectations, and receive ongoing support. Nabta unifies discovery, purchasing, personalized care, and education in one experience, supporting users through every stage of ownership.

02
Research

From Alexandria

A limited sample: directional, not universal.

Four themes and design implications

Choice creates uncertainty

→ Guided discovery and a recommendation quiz.

Info must support decisions

→ Answer “will this work in my home?”

Purchase is the beginning

→ The My Plants ecosystem.

Symptoms confuse

→ A structured diagnosis journey: AI Doctor.

Competitive analysis: where the opportunity is

Discovery

Search and browse → guided, personalized.

Care

Static articles → routines integrated in My Plants.

Diagnosis

External search → AI Doctor with treatment and recovery.

03
Key insight

Ownership is the product. Shopping is a step.

Journey mapping flipped the initial assumption. The purchase became a transition point, not the destination.

Persona

Mariam, 28

New plant parent in Alexandria. “I want plants that fit my lifestyle, not plants that become another responsibility.”

Principle

Transparent pricing

Plant 500 + Delivery 50 + Fees 25 = 575 EGP. No surprises at the final moment.

User flows and information architecture

Commerce

Home, Shop, Quiz. Three entry intents: known, exploratory, need-based.

Ownership

My Plants: profiles, schedules, reminders, health.

Health

AI Doctor: photo check, causes with confidence, treatment, recovery.

Community

Learn, apply, share, discover, return.

04
Brand identity

Natural, calm, trustworthy.

Organic cues balanced with structured UI. Tagline: Grow with Confidence.

One connected ecosystem.

06
Testing & results

What users taught me.

Discovery

Users explored before searching → raised exploration visibility.

Plant details

Users scanned for care info → added a care summary.

Checkout

Users checked the total → transparent breakdown.

My Plants

Expected purchases to appear → linked order completion to ownership.

Diagnosis

Unsure where to start → “Something’s Wrong” entry point.

Strong products connect the right experiences at the right moment: purchase → ownership → care → recovery.
What I would measure next

Recommendation interaction, add-to-cart and checkout completion, plant setup and reminder creation, diagnosis completion, repeat visits. These are future measures unless validated in a live product.
